Vitamin C cures scurvy, which is a deadly disease if left untreated. Most fruit and vegetables contain Vitamin C so I have made a list of the fruit and veggies that are rich in vitamin C as well as their other health benefits. Vitamin C is necessary for the absorption of iron. It is also an antioxidant that neutralizes free radicals in your body.
Broccoli
Broccoli contains vitamin C and beta-carotene, important antioxidants that have been linked to a reduced risk of heart disease, cancer, arthritis and other diseases. Broccoli is high in fiber, which prevent constipation. Broccoli contains a high amount of potassium, that help maintain a healthy heart and regulates blood pressure. The magnesium and calcium in broccoli is important for bone health and to prevent osteoporosis. It also has vitamin K, which keeps the brain healthy.
Cabbage
Cabbage is an excellent source of vitamin c and contains phyto nutrients known to lower the risk of many types of cancer and improve digestion. It also triggers the release of enzymes that expel harmful toxins and help to lower cholesterol.
Guava
Guava is very high in fiber and rich in vitamins A, B, and C, proteins and minerals such as potassium. Guava contains astringents, which are alkaline in nature and have anti-bacterial properties. Guavas are rich in lycopene, a powerful antioxidant which research has shown is successful in reducing prostate cancer risk. It also protects against breast cancer. Oranges
This fruit has a high amount of vitamin C. Vitamin A in oranges promotes good vision. Oranges also has anti-viral and anti-cancer properties.
